I'm back!

Sorry for my week long hiatus, sometimes school just kicks me in the pants! Believe me, you all would have been bored to death if I posted pictures from this week. They would all be of me looking like a hot mess pouring over finance books and excel spreadsheets. I'm making up for being a bad blogger though with a bunch of pictures from what I did last night!

There was a drag show at one of the clubs in T-town last night benefiting AIDS and my friend Whitney's hairstylist was going to be in the show so Whitney rounded up some of the girls to get glammed up and boogie the night away.

We started out the night by putting on fake eyelashes, super high heals, bright red lipstick, and big hair! Once we hit the club we spent the night throwing dollar bills at some fabulous ladies lip syncing to everything from Rhianna to Reba to Adele. It was fabulous! Don't believe me? Take a look for yourself!

She was my favorite!!! Her ponytail was out of control!
 Some sexy ladies

This is our new friend, Casey. He was adorable and an excellent dancer!
A sampling of the outrageous outfits from the evening!

What a fun night. Happy Sunday everyone!

Web Goodies

I have a very busy week this week (I kind of neglected my school duties over spring break), so I'm not expecting anything too exciting to talk pictures of. I thought I would entertain you all with some pictures from funny websites. Enjoy!

whenparentstext.com is one of my new favorite websites! My mom is a hilarious texter and all of the post remind me of her. My mom is obsessed with Reggie and cares way more about seeing him than me so this hamster post really made me laugh!

LOL Cats are a classic! My sister has the Itty Bitty Kitty Bible, which tells the more famous biblical stories though lol cats. It's pretty funny!

Awkward Family Photos is another classic! Everyone out there, PLEASE do not take maternity pictures involving any part of your naked belly. Especially if it involves a karate.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Olympic Glory

While in Atlanta on Thursday, I went to the Centennial Olympic park and hunted down the bricks my parents got for me and Emmy during the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta. If you know me, you know I LOVE the Olympics and I would give just about anything to be able to compete in them one day (I'm pretty sure though at 22 I've aged out of most sports. I'm thinking I'll try sailing. I heard a 65 year old competed in that once).

Anyway, unfortunately for my dreams I think this is as close as I'm going to get to leaving an Olympic legacy...

Fat Cat

For those of you who do not know Bernie, let me introduce him. Years ago after the tragic death of my family's first cat (she was the devil in cat form) my mom and I went to the humane society to pick out a new furry friend for the fam.

That week at the humane society, there had been an outbreak of worms in the cat room so all of the cats were in pretty bad shape. We wanted a kitten but there weren't any little kittens at the HS at the time so we were headed out the door when we spotted the most pathetic cat we'd ever seen. The fluffy orange kitty had no fur on his ears (ear mites), his eyes were gooped shut (conjunctivitis), and he smelled like a rotten egg (the bath they gave all of the cats to get rid of the worms). We felt so sorry for this poor little guy that we HAD to get him!

You'd never know from looking at him now that he was such an ugly mug when we got him because he is the most beautiful long haired orange beauty ever! Anyway, this has been a long post just for this one picture of my GIGANTIC cat!
I'll try to find a better picture of him to show off his beauty. This picture cracks me up though because he's so huge and my mom's face is really funny!

"I like the sound of the puck when it hits the.....what do you call it....stick?"

This quote in the title of this post is from me at my very first hockey game. Clearly, I know nothing about hockey. On St. Patty's day I went to an Atlanta Thashers game with some of my MBA friends and my sista. Being from the south, I've always been pretty skeptical of hockey, especially after Sarah Palin, but I actually had a really great time! The game was fast paced, fun to watch and we even got to see a fight! I highly recommend a pro, minor and college game to anyone. Here are some snapshots of the festivities!
I know it's hard to tell (I was trying to be descret), but this chicka was DECKED OUT in St. Patty's goodness. Her tights had shamrocks on them, her belt had greet shot glasses glued to it, the had on shamrock glasses, green hair dye, and a gigantic green bow! Way to get into the holiday!
Unfortunately, there was no green beer at the game but they did have green lemonade!
We had great seats! The game ended up going into OT and then a shootout and both goals in the shootout were scored on this net. Very exciting!
Philips Arena was pretty impressive. These bird head things shot out fire from their mouths whenever something big happened.

It was a great trip with some fantastic friends!

Homecoming

After a long day of cleaning up the condo and then driving back to the 'Burn yesterday, I came home to this sweet face that I'd been missing all week!
He's special...

Also, it's St. Patty's Day! I am celebrating today by heading up to the ATL for my very first hockey game! Thirsty Thursday anyone? Don't mind if I do! (pictures to come!)

Sexy

This, my friends, is why my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.

In other news, our beach trip is over (sad). Monday and Tuesday were spent soaking up the rays and the lovely miss Caitlyn drove over from Mobile on Tuesday for dinner. Sadly, I forgot to take pictures but we had a great time and ate some D to the E to the L-I-C-I-O-U-S cheese dip and shrimp and risotto at Cosmo's! I highly recommend check it out if you're in the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach area.

Brunch on the bay

Yesterday morning we partook in one of the greatest traditions ever invented, Sunday morning brunch! We got up early and headed down to Orange Beach to visit a Smith family favorite, Tacky Jacks!

We had a great time at this lovely little hole-in-the-wall enjoying views of the bay, omelets, mimosas, and Irish coffee.
A word to the wise though if you are on a budget make sure you know how much your drinks are going to cost. The bill was a bit of a surprise, but we still had a great time! We then rounded out the day with a few hours of beach lounging! This is what happens when you fall asleep on the couch with your phone under your leg!

I'm officially old

SB2K11 (I had to ask Clay "what is the abbreviation that the kids use for spring break") is here and I've decided that I'm officially an old fart. There are a TON of spring breakers at the beach this week and I get tired just watching them play in the freezing cold water, play beach volleyball for hours, and drink gigantic water bottles full of vodka and Gatorade. Clay and I were definitely the dorks reapplying sunscreen every hour and reading our Kindles. To top off our status and oldies we went to the Orange Beach Arts Festival and had a REALLY good time! There were a ton of booths from local artists and a lot of yummy food. I had Gelato and Clay got a funnel cake. It was a lovely afternoon!
As you can probably tell, we were the only people under the age of 50 here. Just kidding, sort of.
I know it's hard to tell from this picture but these jokers traveled all the way from Texas Tech and planted their school and fraternity flag in the white, sandy beaches of Alabama. Also, the beach was COVERED earlier in the day. this picture was taken right as the sun was setting and they were the only ones still left of the beach.

All we did was win

On Friday afternoon before I headed to the beach, my mom and some of her friends went to the athletic complex to take pictures with Auburn's new hardware. I tagged along and snapped a few photos for myself! The trophies were really cool and the athletic complex did a fantastic job of making great displays for all of the trophies. I'm not going to scare you with the awful picture of me with the coaches trophy (me with no makeup, baggy jeans and about 4 hours of sleep is not a pretty sight) but here are some not very good pictures I managed to get with my phone.

Boo on glass that causes a glare! That white thing in the background is a cut out of Aubie. The real Aubie was suppose to be there but he left his suit in Atlanta at the basketball game.

Spring has Sprung

I was welcomed home for spring break (yay!!!) by this beautiful site!
These are the HUGE pear trees in my parents from yard. They are massive and absolutely beautiful. I love how pretty spring is and I love that spring break is here!

Ferocious

What a creeper...

Old School

For those of you who do know know (which is probably everyone) I am somewhat of a Tetris prodigy. Okay, so I may be taking it a little too far, but I do have some mad Tetris skills that I developed by playing the game almost every day after school from 2nd to 4th grade.

My family, like most, had a Nintendo NES and my sister and I spent hours of our childhood playing Duck Hunt, Super Mario Brothers, Yoshi's Cookies, and Tetris. Over Christmas, my mom cleaned out our attic and found the old Nintendo and was planning on throwing it away until Clay decided to rescue it and bring it back to T-town. This week we finally fired up the bad boy and I once again inspired and amazed Clay with my ability to fit odd shaped blocks together to the sounds of classical Russian tunes.

I had a fabulous day on Sunday shopping in Birmingham with one of my wonderful friends! We capped off the day with a dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, after which I was so full I had to waddle to the car. I love me some Cheesecake. The best part about the Cheesecake Factory is that they give you so much food you can make 5 meals out of it. Clay and I enjoyed this leftover red velvet cheesecake last night. YUMMMMMMMIE!

My goal in life

I saw this license plate and decided that I will have made it in this world when I have a this vanity tag.

I really hope this tag is still available in Alabama...

C'mon 'N ride the train...

I was flipping through the coupons last week and came across this fabulous Family Dollar Store brand:
I laughed out loud for a solid 5 minutes. I would NEVER trust a dog food called "Gravy Train" that only cost $4.50. Reggie, be thankful I'm your mother.

Seeing Green

Sorry I've neglected my blog this week. I had about a million projects due this week and spent a large part of the week not sleeping and at school. Boo. Anyway, enough with the excuses, and on to the good stuff!

When I moved to t-town I left every piece of living furniture I owned back in Auburn (except of two laps) so I bought a new couch when I moved and I've been slowly adding piece all year. Hopefully I'll be finished by the time I move next year and hopefully all of my furniture will fit in where ever I move. This week I found a lovely addition for an even lovelier price!
It's a leather storage ottoman and the top flips over and becomes a tray! The original price tag on this baby was $129 but I got it for $19.99! I love bargain shopping!

I was eating carrots this afternoon and decided I would treat Reggie to the orange, crunch delight. He loves carrots and doesn't get people food much so I thought he'd be very pleased with his afternoon treat. If anyone knows Reggie, you know that he LOVES to chew on anything and everything! (see tennis bone post) He must have been in a chewy mood and not a hungry mood because he proceeded to chew the carrot to pieces and not eat any of it. I have the weirdest dog.

"Life's a garden, dig it"

I was driving to school on Monday and ended up behind this gem!

I know you can't read it form here (I tried to get a better picture but figured my safety was more important), but the white bumper sticker says: "I Dig My Coal Miner" and has a heart with a pickaxe and a shovel coming out of it. Oh, Tuscaloosa.

Pretty Awesome

In light of the Toomer's Oaks ordeal, Auburn decided to make and sell a t-shirt to raise money for the trees. My mom works with the woman in charge of trademarks and licensing at Auburn and she was telling my mom that they were having a difficult time finding a good picture of the trees to put on the t-shirt. Well, my dad had gone down to Toomer's after the Championship game to take pictures of it for my sister and me since we were still in Arizona. My mom sent these pictures to the licensing lady not really thinking they would use any of them but low and behold they loved the pictures and used two of them! We all thought this was cool because my dad is an Alabama fan, so it was nice that we were having some love in the rivalry.

The shirts weren't suppose to go on sale for another week but when we were downtown on Saturday Alison found the shirts in Anders! I was super excited and almost immediately sent an email to my dad telling him he should quit his job, which is hanging out in Italy for a semester (I might be a little jealous), and become a tree photographer! On Sunday mom and I went to Dicks and bought about 5 thousand shirts to send to friends and family members (we got a little carried away). You should go out and get one! They look good and are for a good cause.
